The East
Texas Jazz Orchestra had
completed it's latest CD "swingin'.
We are very pleased with the results.
Check out the musicians at the left side
of this page, they all sacrificed
a lot to make the CD possible.
We would like to
thank our Musical Director
Mr. Doug Morris. Mr. Morris' talent,
his ear for jazz, and hard
work was an invaluable contribution
to the album.
Also, we
would like to give our special
thanks to our
audio engineers Greg
Hunt and Gary Learly At Rosewood
Studios. We are
indebted to them for their advise
and hard work.

Swingin' Song Titles

Take The "A" Train: This
is a great rendition of an old sone by
Billy
Strayhorn. Great section work by the
individual sections as
well as a great trumpet solo
by Tim Schodowski. |

I Left My Heart In San Francisco: This
is a great old dance number that
Tony Bennet made famous. Nice soft
ten sax solo by Mike Kellogg. |
3.
Shiny Stockings: Agreat
swing tune made famous by the Count
Basie
Orchestra. It was written by Frank
Foster. Piano solo is by Steve
Smitha. |
4.
Cherry Pink & Apple Blossom White: A Cha Cha from the fifthies. Trumpet
solo honors go to Tim
Schodowski. |
5. Fly Me To The Moon: A great seing
dance chart written by Bart Howard. |
6. Jumpin At The
Woodside: This number
was originally written and recorded
by Count Basie. This is a great fast
swing. |
7. Cry
Me A River: The orchestra
features the tallents of Mr. Mike Kellogg
on the tenor saxophone. Mike does a
great job. What a great dance tune... |
8. Hallelujah I Love Her So: Thlis
is fine old blues song written and
made famous by Mr. Ray Charles. The
solo blues trumpet features Mr. Bud
Yenne. |
9. Summertime: This Gershwin song
from the musical is a gret dance number.
The beautiful tenor and soprano sax
solo features Mr. Danny Burns. The
middle trumpet solo is performed by
our guest director Mr. Doug Morris. |
10.
Dancing Men: The
orchestra members always like
to put at least one rock
song on each CD. This number lets the
trumpet section blow off a litle steam.
The song ws composed by John LaBrabera.
Soloist include, Mike Kellogg,
Ray Chambers, Tom Mensch, and
Tim Schodowski. |
11. Don't Blame Me: This
is another fine dance number. It is
soft and easy
with a great muted trumpet solo by
Tim Schodowski. The
song was written by Jimmy McHugh. |
12. Two O'clock Jump: This number
has been recorded by many of the big
band including Harry James, Benny Goodman,
and Count Basie. WE have a great arrangement
here that we love to play. |
13.
Second Time Around: You
will almost glide across the
dance floor
dancing to this
number. |
14.
April In Paris: A
traditional swing arrangement.
Trombone solo is by Mr. Ellis
Kilgore. |
15.
Things Ain't What They Use To
Be: This
number was written by Mercer
Ellington and Ted Persons. It
was made
famous by the recording made by Woody
Herman. This swing era arrangement
will challenge the best saxophone players.
Solos are by Mike Kellogg tenor
sax, Tim Schodowski trumpet,
Ellis Kilgore trombone, and Mr.
Howard Galletly on clarinet. |
